Our Story
A Story of God's Faithfulness
The story of True Life Church begins with a call from God and a willingness to say yes.
In 2004, God spoke to Richard and Sylvia Neusch through three prophetic words, preparing them for a new assignment: to plant a church. As they stepped out in faith, God began bringing people around them and providing what they needed for the journey ahead. Five couples joined Richard and Sylvia to form the original core team of what would become True Life Church.
In 2005, that vision became reality. After a soft launch in July, True Life celebrated its grand opening on September 19 before moving to the Chisholm Trail location later that year. Along the way, God miraculously provided $40,000 in startup funds, laying the foundation for a church built on faith, generosity, and dependence on Him.
In 2008, True Life purchased the former River of Life church building, establishing a permanent home for the growing congregation. As the church continued to grow, so did the need for space. In 2014, a generous $250,000 donation toward a sanctuary expansion challenged the congregation to respond with faith and generosity of their own. The sanctuary expansion was completed in 2016, followed by the addition of the Johnson Building in 2017 and two more buildings in 2021, creating additional space for ministry, discipleship, and community.
In 2024, Richard and Sylvia’s season of leadership gave way to a new chapter as Chuck and Anna Maher were commissioned as the Senior Leaders of True Life. With deep gratitude for the foundation laid by the founding pastors, Chuck and Anna stepped into the future believing that the God who had faithfully led True Life from the beginning would continue to lead it in the years ahead.
Today, True Life remains committed to helping people encounter Jesus, become like Him, and change the world by the power of the Holy Spirit. Our heart is to see lives transformed by the presence and power of God, and to carry the hope of Jesus into our community and beyond.
What began with a prophetic promise and a step of faith continues to unfold. God has been faithful every step of the way, and we believe the best chapters of the story are still being written.
